Rocky Point, Sonora, Mx Big Fish Aug 2012

These pictures are of Big Pinto Bass., sometimes referred to as Spotted Sea Bass.  The clients had a hard time holding em up so we're guessing between 90 to 95 lbs.  The boat Caballo del Mar, a nice clean 44 ft sport fishing boat, with Captain Pancho at the helm.  Using his favorite GPS headings he consistently keeps clients over Big fish like these.  Caught out  22 miles off shore, depth of water 210 feet.   Other types of fish out there are Grouper, White Sea Bass, Sardineros and Calico Bass.  Best time of year for these fish are March to late August.  These fish migrate and spawn here year after year due to great ocean conditions.  Rocky Point, Sonora, Mex is know to have some of the best "deep sea" fishing anywhere in the world.  This awesome beachfront community remains a safe area for good food and great fishing.

There are Big fish like these here on the Sea of Cortez at Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mx..  Known to most Americans as Rocky Point,  a short 4 hr drive south of Phoenix or Tucson, AZ.   Check out the beautiful calm seas.  I've had clients comment that fishing here is some of "the best anywhere".  Captain Pancho on the boat Caballo del Mar headed out just 22 miles off shore for these big ones.   He'll use his favorite and somewhat secreative GPS numbers to bring in a good catch.  Grouper fish, the most sought after, while White Sea Bass, Pinto Bass and Sardinero rank high on the list.
